MIS stands for Minimally Invasive Surgery. MIS is the term given for modern surgical procedures that are less traumatic than conventional open surgery; they usually entail the use of specialized instruments to accomplish the surgery. It is the preferred treatment given to patients in highly developed countries whenever possible.

Benefits of MIS

1.       smaller scars

2.       less painful

3.       shorter hospital stay

4.       shorter rehabilitation

5.       faster recovery and return to normal activities

What is Arthroscopy?

Arthroscopy is a form of minimally invasive surgery for joints. Arthroscopic procedures are technically demanding operations performed through tiny incisions utilizing an arthroscope (a form of telescope for joints) and other special equipment. Patients who undergo arthroscopic procedures have smaller scars, experience less pain and return to their previous level of activity much faster than patients who undergo open surgical procedures.
